Combine that with the lack of a Move Tutor (not Move Reminder), and she has a very shallow movepool. Actually, her special coverage was pretty limited with Shock Wave, and to add insult to injury, she had a flying-type Hidden Power. My Alakazam was Modest, and decimated poison & fighting types, which are at least as common as dark ones in Snakewood. Though he tailed off a bit in the Sootopolis stage. My Breloom murdered dark types, offered Stun Spore support, and exploited fat blobs for their high HP with his Leech Seed. Beat the game without using any non-held items in battle. I had a core of Breloom, Alakazam and the camera thing you get from the university, and they were great.
There are lots of fakemon with insane amounts of HP, broken abilities and all that, which is where status moves come into play. The plot is dumb even by parody standards and there are really frustrating parts like the Madio Cave, the Deadly Seven encounter near Lilycove, and the electricity puzzle not working for any other electric move than Thundershock, but the battles themselves aren't that extremely difficult most of the time. In summary, is it really the worst romhack? I wont deny that it's horseshit, but it's an enjoyable pile of horseshit that i can't help but love/hate. I think this holds more value than the bundle of generic hacks that just changes some things for more encounters, different scaling, quality of life, etc. It's edgy, the plot changes at the drop of the hat from zombies to psychics to a jumbled fucking mess, the balancing is all over the place, and the game thinks its a lot better than it actually is.īut for all intents and purposes, it is a completed hack that does its own thing, has its own unique areas and story, and honestly if viewed from a looking glass made of fucking solid irony folded over ten thousand times by a japanese artisan, is pretty fucking funny. So as someone who played this game in 2015, 2018, and going back to stream it this Tuesday with a friend who knows nothing about it, I often see this hack proclaimed as the worst hack ever.
